Clay Club Report October 2013

Had a great meeting at THE SQUEAKY WHEEL in Asheville next to White Duck Taco.  Want to thank everyone for hosting. They had great food and discussed their work and how the studio operated. Looks like an fun place and only $100 a month rent.

Plus they had this glaze tile wall!  What is not to love there!?

And John Hartom came and thanked everyone who donated to the Manna Empty Bowls Dinner and Lunch.  Also, his newer project with Linda McFarling is The DigIn Garden in Burnsville, NC. They raise food for the soup kitchen at Higgins Church.

They are having a Empty Bowl Dinner on October 18 (see below).

Charles Freeland was there, as he assists in technical matters, and he reminded us about the Western North Carolina Pottery Festival in Dillsboro, NC. November 2, 2013.

They also have a Clay Olympics Nov. 1, 2013 which I wish I could attend but will be away at a workshop. If anyone can attend and take notes so we can plan for our Olympics in January it would be great.

THE NEXT CLAY CLUB will be November 13, 2013 at OOAK Gallery in Micaville.

Then as far as I know....in DECEMBER - I may host a DEMO-PALOOZA at my studio - unless someone else wants to do it toward Asheville??? Get about 10 demonstrations of about 5 minutes each and put them on Youtube??!!

THEN THE CLAY OLYMPICS in January. We need a space and some people to help organize.  I will work on that after the Spruce Pine Potters Market this weekend. Out!
