Pottery tools and equipment for sale near Penland School

Jon Ellenbogen and Becky Plummer are closing Barking Spider Pottery and they are selling quite a bit of studio equipment. Here are the details from Jon:

Over our 43 years in the studio we’ve accumulated lots of tools and equipment, and we’d like to pass (sell) it on to worthy recipients.

Because of the virus we don’t want groups of people, so interested parties should call us (828-765-3123) for a time slot. Everyone will need a mask and social distancing will be enforced.

There’s a partial list of what we’re selling on our website: barkingspiderpottery.com. Go to the SALE OF STUDIO EQUIPMENT page.

Studio location details are also on the Barking Spider Pottery website.

Spruce Pine Potters Market online this weekend

The annual Spruce Pine Potters Market will take place exclusively online at SprucePinePottersMarket.com starting on Saturday, October 10 at 10 a.m.

The annual event now in virtual format, will feature more than 23 potters from Mitchell, Yancey and Avery counties, as well as specially invited guest potters.

Pottery enthusiasts will be able to find work from their favorite North Carolina High Country clay artists and minus the crowds, will have the ability to find new work they may have missed before.

This year’s participating artists include Will Baker, Pam Brewer, Cynthia Bringle, Naomi Dalglish, Susan Feagin, Terry Gess, Michael Hunt, Lisa and Nick Joerling, Michael Kline, Suze Lindsay, Shaunna Lyons, Courtney Martin, Kent McLaughlin, Teresa Pietsch, David Ross, Michael and Ruth Rutkowsky, Ken and Galen Sedberry, Jenny Lou Sherburne, Gay Smith and Joy Tanner and specially invited guests.

The Spruce Pine Potters Market encourages visitors to join them in their annual support of two local nonprofits with the purchase of raffle tickets which are available online now. Work from Lindsay, Lisa Joerling, Shane Mickey and Tanner will be raffled with all proceeds distributed in support of current food shortages to Shepherd’s Staff and Neighbors Feeding Neighbors.

For information on Spruce Pine Potters Market and additional info on the participating artists, visit SprucePinePottersMarket.com, find the market on Facebook, email info@sprucepinepottersmarket.com or call 733-5755.

Skutt kiln for sale near Boone

***see photos of this kiln here:  https://ncclayclub.blogspot.com/2020/10/kiln-for-sale-in-boone-nc.html***

Here are the details from Tyler Deal:

I have a 7cu ft. Skutt in great condition with digital programer, envirovent, 2 full shelves, 6 half shelves and some furniture for $1500.

I have to move this out of the space sooner rather than later, asap would be great!

Kiln works great and has only been bisque fired the past couple of years. Please email deal.tyler81@gmail.com or 828-773-1365, email is best way to schedule time to see the kiln over the weekend including Friday.

Studio is 5 miles from Boone, NC in Vilas. Easy paved road and short gravel driveway. I can not offer much assistance for loading but I hope this great deal goes along to another. You will only be the 3rd owner of the kiln. I have only had it a few weeks but it is more with my other kilns than I need.

I am hoping folks come take a look this weekend in Boone. You will need to bring assistance for loading.

Feel free to pass along.

Thank you!
