Haywood  Community College Professional Crafts Clay Program recently built a bevy of great new kilns.

We will auction off some nice 
no-longer-used kilns. 

Excellent condition!  These used kilns will be sold by Sealed Bids for 2 weeks in March, 2014 at:

Seems to me the least that one could do is salvage the bricks, from these kilns, and use them to construct other kilns. It's known as recycling. Think about it.

Seems to me that probably thought of that...but the time to take them down and clean them up ...and so selling them is a chance for others to recycle. They get a small amount of money and the buyers get to recycle.

AS A FORMER STUDENT OF HAYWOOD COMMUNITY COLLEGE BACK IN THE 80'S AND A FULL TIME POTTER I HAVE SEEN A STEADY DECLINE IN THIS PROGRAM.THESE KILNS HAVE NOT BEEN FIRED FOR OVER FIVE YEARS.THESE KILNS SHOULD HAVE BEEN MOVED TO THE NEW BUILDING AND USED IN A KILN BUILDING CLASS FOR THE STUDENTS.OH--THE NEW ONES-SMALL HOBBY SODA KILN AND A WOOD KILN WITH NO WHERE TO STACK AND STORE WOOD.
