March 9th, 2022 NC CLAY CLUB Meeting at Play in Mud Pottery Studio with Kelsey Schissel
Thought I would give a brief report on the March 9, 2022 Clay Club at Plays in Mud Pottery which is owned and operated by the wonderful Kelsey Schissel . She was a fantastic host and provided some light snacks and beverages from Whole Foods. It was the first in person Clay Club in 2 years so were were very happy to get together and laugh a bit.
She has a wonderful shop which is right on Haywood Road next to The Biscuit Head at 735C Haywood Rd, Asheville, NC 28806 where she has a gallery and production space where she also hosts classed Wedding and large group parties as well as Date Nights. Here is her website: https://www.playsinmud.com/
The topic was pricing your work and so we all sat in a circle and and had a really interesting discussion amongst the 15 of us. There were a lot of different perspectives and thoughtful ideas expressed which is quite usual for the NC Clay Club. (just kidding) But was a fun night and hopefully the start of many more to come!
We missed Amy Waller and Tori Moyl (our officially leaders) but will look forward to seeing them next time.
The April 13th meeting will be at Michael Kline's studio on Bakersville NC. All are welcome. We will get you the details later in the month.
