This Friday, May 26th, In Downtown Bakersville!

Hey everyone!

Downtown Bakersville is having a special event this Friday, May 26th from 5:00-7:00.  The galleries in town are planning on providing you with lots of great art to see, some munchables (the handmade kind - not those things you put in little kids lunchboxes that are ultra-processed...), and drinks.

MICA has 3 new exhibiting guests:

James Cooper who's a metalsmith who creates great functional work - benches, frying pans, spoons, etc.

Judson Guerard's blown glass work; from cups to ornaments.

and Colleen Connolly whose textiles are directly printed from leaves and plants, that include wall hangings, table runners, napkins...

In Tandem Gallery will be showing our upcoming show of Shalene Valezuela's ceramic work that's a takeoff of 1950s imagery and common household items.  We were able to pick up her work on our trip to Montana this past March - super cool stuff (a little conceptual, a bit sculptural, somewhat functional...  You'll see).

Sweetgrass will have all new work this season that you've got to check out.  A whole variety of local artisans from painters to woodworkers to potters.  All in a great environment!

Bowditch Antiques and Heavenly Things will also be opened for Friday nights shindig.  Its from 5:00-7:00 and they'll have refreshments too - so LOTS to eat and drink that evening!!

So hope you can make it and join us all.

Best to everyone,

andy
