Recap: March Clay Club

What a lovely gathering we had in March! 

Thanks to Clayspace and Kristin for hosting us at the Co-op studio and gallery for an engaging presentation by Howard Sawhill from Cone Blue Pottery. 

Howard is based in Chapel Hill, but he collaborates with potters to explore the material science behind ceramic glazes, near and far. 

During his presentation, we gained insights into how different glaze tests can give us answers to questions that are not as apparent in our usual test tiles. For the potters and glaze chemists alike, Howard explains approaches to glazes that were accessible from a non chemistry perspective as well. 

It was great to see some new faces among the usuals at this month's clay club! Thanks to those who contributed delicious food and drink!
