 Clay Science 101 with Lindsay Rogers: May 18th



The material science of ceramic production can be overwhelming, but creative freedom can flourish when you understand the fundamentals! This short workshop will introduce participants to the science of clay and clay body development. Topics will include investigating the material properties of local (wild) clay, mined clay, and commercial clay bodies. Lectures and demonstrations will also include the major principles of developing a clay body recipe from scratch. Participants will leave the workshop with informational handouts, instructions on making tools for successful clay testing, and clay bars they can bring to their home kilns to start their clay testing journey.



$140. Fee includes the workshop, materials provided by the instructor, and a $20 non-refundable registration fee.
