October Clay Club at Glassman Studio (Wed 10/29) for festive pumpkin demos and costumes!

October Clay Club Everyone is welcome, bring friends! Do you want to host or demo for a clay club in 2025 or 2026? Reply to this email and let’s get you on the calendar! For new fellow clay lovers, there is no registration or fee to be a part of Clay Club or attend a monthly meeting. You can just show up! Clay Club gets festive and spooky at Glassman Studio! Costumes encouraged, Studio Tour, and Potluck Mingling - Hannah will demo throwing pumpkins on the wheel and talk carving and decorating. Then all are welcome to partake in making their own pumpkins, reclaim provided by the studio! When: Wednesday, October 29th, at  6:00 PM - 8 PM Who: Glassman Studio and Hannah Gambino Where: 2015 Asheville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC 28791 Topic: Wheel-Throwing Pumpkins and Carving Clay Jack-O-Lanterns Food: Potluck (Bring your own snacks/food/drinks to share, make it spooky!!) Parking: There are spots in the front of the building and behind the loading dock, but spaces are limited to roughly 15 car spots. Please carpool if possible. Send message here if you’d like to offer or partake in carpool! Glassman Studio Glassman Clay Studio is a Community Clay Studio and Classroom in Hendersonville, NC. We offer Multi-Week classes, One-Time Classes, Private Lessons, Monthly Memberships, Studio Assistantships and Kiln Rentals. Our studio is open to the public Thursdays-Saturdays 11am-4pm for people to visit and feel out the space. People of all skill levels and abilities are encouraged to come experience the joy and benefits of working with clay. We prioritize individual goals, with demonstrations to reinforce a good foundation. Our focus is on one-to-one instruction with small classes to  help bring your personal goals to fruition. It is a space to learn new techniques and working styles and gain feedback from your peers when needed. Glassman Studio Meet Hannah Gambino Hannah Gambino is Studio Manager and Instructor at Glassman Clay Studio and Instructor at Odyssey Clayworks. Her illustrative style shows in clay with use of underglazes and thematic, original character designs. With an emphasis on the word "critter," she enjoys creating little fellers to be around. Many of them are not a specific animal but can fully lean towards one as perceived by an individual; they are ambiguous, like emotions kept veiled, though that impacts little. A sweet (usually playful) critter is present regardless, and she relates. Her work often shows at face value but translates grief and difficult feelings into a vessel that gives physicality to the joy and simplicity that the natural world, color, and linework bring. She expresses conversation between the inner child to the adult navigating, leading to intersection of representation and whimsy.
