Textures, Slabs, and Wheel with Zan Barnes at The Village Potters in Asheville
The Village Potters Master Series: Textures, Slabs, and Wheel with Zan Barnes
Saturday, June 4 at The Village Potters in Asheville
This workshop is for every potter who loves the functional pot and wants to make excellent, unique work. Zan will be demonstrating her process of using multiple techniques to create her wonderful body of Soda Fired pots. Her passion for her life as a potter and her work is sure to inspire you!
Zan Barnes was born into a family of potters right here in the mountains of Western North Carolina. She has a Masters of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the University of North Texas and works out of Riverwood Pottery in Dillsboro, NC. Zan believes that pottery invites a tactile experience. Her work reflects that by featuring strong textures, unique forms, and gorgeous soda fired blushings that beg to be explored by the human hand.
Clay Club meets at artist studios and other locations throughout Western North Carolina, usually on the second Wednesday of the month. All potters and ceramic artists are welcome! Look for details about the meetings here on the blog or contact Amy Waller at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
