From the Asheville Area Arts Council website:

The Asheville Area Arts Council’s 9th Annual Creative Sector Summit will focus on the equity and inclusion of underrepresented artists in Buncombe County. Join us as we reflect on problematic historic issues, celebrate current successes, and strategize to increase arts access and opportunity for those that are empowering our community with art.

Through presentations, group panels, and open discussion, this conference highlights local community leaders who will examine the past, present, and future for a more equitable and representative arts community. These discussions will help us to understand the challenges that underrepresented artists and cultural workers face, and explore innovative solutions for better collaboration between artists, arts organizations, and their audiences.

We believe the arts can be used as a profound catalyst for progress by elevating change agents and untapped talent in our community. Join us to share your voice, and help set solution-oriented initiatives to create a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Buncombe County. Together, we can develop ideas to spur long-term changes.
