When: Saturday, September 7th, 10 AM - 2 PM Who: Dig In! Yancey and High Country Ceramics Where: 552 E U.S. Hwy 19E Bypass, Burnsville, NC 28714 Join us for an ice cream social BYOBowl- Bring bowl to donate and enjoy ice cream or just help with glazing! Dig In! Yancey and High Country Ceramics will host an Empty Bowls throwing day. All finished bowls and even bisqued bowls are welcome donations (just make sure to know the clay body!) This event and your contributions will help support the local food banks in Mitchell and Yancey County! Parking: Plenty of space but reach out if you’d like help coordinating carpooling!

In August, an industrious group of potters gathered to make over 110 bowls for Dig In! Yancey’s October event. Now it’s time to decorate them! Anyone who can hold a paintbrush is welcome to join us. Clay was donated by Highwater Clay in Asheville, but we’d love to collect a little money to help pay for other provided supplies, or maybe you have some underglazes around we can use?  If you have finished bowls of any craft, drop them off that day, or anytime in September at High Country Ceramics, or Yancey County Library.  Questions?  Sarah House 828-284-3026

October: Tori Motyl will demo Jarre a la Corde, french for Rope Jar, a traditional way of making pottery on the wheel using a rope and wood armature.
