What are these? Pinkshell Azealea?!

Can anyone tell  me what these flowers are? I was riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway and saw them but can't  find them on line.

I think the picture you posted on the Clay Club site is a pinkshell azalea. They are blooming now. They are actually rather rare in the big scheme of things. They are native to only a few North Carolina counties. I think they propagate them up at the Energy Exchange.

I see them in the old fort area. Like flame azalea, only pink instead of orange. native azalea.
