Clay Club on Wednesday!
Clay Club is this Wednesday at YaYaYoga & Market in Spruce Pine! Thanks again to Anita Blackwell for hosting us.
When: 6-8 pm, Wednesday February 14th
What: Anita is putting together a special program for us - wear comfortable clothes:
Healing Yoga Poses for Artists, Especially Ceramic Artists…….
Here are some of the common complaints I hear from my artist friends:
Tension in neck and shoulders
Pain in upper back, between shoulder blades
Chronic or intermittent low back pain
Pain deep in the sacral/hip area
Come to an evening of exploration, fun and healing. Learn simple yoga poses, gentle stretches, and breath work to release tension, stress and shift the perception of pain. Only 10 to 15 minutes everyday could begin to change your body, affecting how you work and move through your creative life.
Anita Blackwell, RYT has owned YaYaYoga in Spruce Pine for 10 years since moving here from Sarasota, Florida. She has been practicing yoga for 20 years, almost as long as she has been doing clay. Penland was a large part of her decision to move here and she has taught yoga and movement at three concentration classes, 2012, 2013, 2015.
Note: we will do the program first and have our potluck after - please bring food and drink to share with that in mind. Anita has a microwave and hot plate that can be used if needed.
Carpooling: anyone in the greater Asheville area who is interested in carpooling: let me know by email, or leave a comment here on this blog post or on this post on Facebook and we’ll see what we can coordinate.
Clay Club meets at artist studios and other locations throughout Western North Carolina, usually on the second Wednesday of the month. All potters and ceramic artists are welcome! Look for details about the meetings here on the blog or contact Amy Waller at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
