Bruce's Crackle

Got some nice shinos out of the load with Linda McFarling.

This is Bruce's Crackle and it was glazed and then fired to 1100 F. Then black stain was rubbed in and it was then refired to cone 10 reduction.

I was wondering why the need to re-bisque before applying stain?

Because washing out the stain will wash away the glaze...unless you harden it by rebisqueing ( but lower)

Thanks, I misread 1100F for 1100C and was pretty confused. Now it's all clear. Thanks !
