New Tools

Here's some of my recent tool acquisitions: brush by Jim Stockwell made with deer, groundhog & moose fur, 2 wooden tools by John Ferlazzo, and my good friend LeAnne Ash just sent me some Dirty Girl tools from Kentucky Mudworks in Lexington- a slab beveler, facet cutter and 3 ergonomic wire cutters made of extra thin wire which helps reduce "s,"-cracking under porcelain pieces that I don't trim.

How does the wire help to prevent S-cracks?

I picked up one of the short ergonomic wires at the pottery festival in Dillsboro a couple of months ago and I really like it. Emily, have you used the facet tool yet? I was thinking of getting the one with the wiggle wire. I'd be interested in hearing what you think of yours.

I think the thin gauge of the wire produces less friction, therefore preventing s-cracks.
Haven't tried the facet tool yet Marian.
