Scythe and philosophy



A little off topic....But if you need some movies or books....


Saw the movie Anna Karenina yesterday and they had a scene in there on Scythe's and the basic philosophy of life. Great movie!

Also, some good books out recently. Saw them at Barnes and Noble: 

"Assholes -A theory" by Aaron James which explains a lot of things.....

"Antifragile" by Taleb (Black Swan)

"The Signal and the Noise- Why most predictions fail but some don't" - Nate Silver

Ok, I'll bite, what does a Scythe have to do with philosophy of Life? (Other than repent, place your faith in Jesus Christ before the Grim Reaper comes with the)Scythe.

I am no expert, but it is kinda like Voltaire's "Tend your garden" or work as an antidote to the neurosis.

So basically this guy had rich people problems but working, the rhythmic action of the cutting, stops his mind from its habitual actions of projecting, worrying, over thinking, etc. Kinda like the Jesus prayer or Buddhist meditation, etc.
