It is a hoax. A potter at Odyssey had the same thing happen a few weeks ago, except she was stranded in London.

A good friend of mine was supposedly trapped in London Saturday...sounds like an epidemic. I hope that my Mac protects me.

Got the same email,purportedly from Emily. I didn't have your email Emily and found that the email links on your website only linked to me having to sign in to Google, etc. You might want to think about posting a direct email address on there so someone can easily reach you at a time like this.

my deepest appologies for the confusion. I hope I didn't pass on the virtual herpes virus, which arrived to me in the same way. To hell with hotmail, i'm now on gmail reasonpots@gmail.com if anyone needs to get in touch. I cannot access hotmail or facebook at this time so I will not be able to respond via those sites.

This had happened to several friends of mine. The last time someone contacted me on Chat from my dear friends Facebook. While they were on the line, I called the Western Union Office they were calling from and they were arrested on the spot. With an e-mail, but if you get them to give you an address, you can try and get the number and call, or report it to the FBI.
