European porcelain was invented 300 years ago in Germany. Or was it?

There's a great book on the discovery of porcelain called "The Arcanum" by Janet Gleeson. The story (true) is full of mystery, intrigue, and greed, since at one time, the formula for porcelain was more valuable than gold. Buy a used copy of the book CHEAP from Amazon.com.
That is an interesting and quick read. Amazing what we now take for granted, people were being imprisoned and dying for!
