The Department of Art & Art History at the University of North Carolina Asheville invites applications for a Lecturer in Ceramics, to begin Fall 2022. We invite candidates to apply who are seeking a faculty position at a liberal arts institution with a strong desire to provide excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. Applicants must hold an MFA in Ceramics, and specialize in wheel-thrown functional and decorative ceramics, glaze calculation, slip casting and kiln operation and maintenance as our curriculum prides itself on teaching students how to be practitioners beyond what the University facilities provides. The Lecturer will rotate teaching all levels (I-IV) of undergraduate ceramics courses, three-dimensional design and the BFA senior capstone course. This position requires knowledge and willingness to co-manage the high studio demands that is required of the Ceramics concentration.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 3 courses (12 contact hours) per semester, engage in service to the institution, the community and the profession, and work with our students in some area of the discipline specific to their expertise.
