Can someone explain why I'm not able to copy and paste into the "compose," box when making a post? I find it very irritating.

What are you trying to copy from? I often copy and paste from MS Word without any issues but some other programs aren't as friendly. Maybe you could copy from an unfriendly program into something simple (notepad, text edit, ...)then into blogger. It sounds like a pain in the @$$ but it's still better than retyping.
