Mica Gallery Features Speckled Dog Pottery in October

Mica -- A Cooperative Gallery of Fine Art and Contemporary Craft – presents “Mise en Place,” new work by Robbie Bell of Speckled Dog Pottery during the month of October.

“Mise en Place,” a French culinary term, means “to put into place” or “gather.”  His show is about gathering the pots one needs to prepare for those who love to eat--mixing bowls, baking dishes, plates, cups, etc. Speckled Dog pots are made of porcelaneous stoneware and fired in an electric kiln. “They are made to be used every day…they are made for those who love food because that is one of the simplest pleasures of life,” Bell describes.

Mica is located at 37 Mitchell Avenue, Bakersville, NC.  Mica is open daily, Mondays through Saturdays from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sundays from noon-5:00pm. The gallery continues to follow guidance from the CDC and state of North Carolina with regards to controlling the spread of Covid-19.
