Meet Rose Hardesty

Rose Hardesty is a visual artist living and working in

Asheville, NC.  Her eclectic background shows in her work: raised in Ventura, California, with a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art, geology studies at the University of New Mexico, and a work history that includes bronze foundry work, production pottery experience, and pastry chef work.  She creates functional and sculptural wood fired ceramic pieces inspired by the natural world and informed by imagination. Her work marries seemingly disparate elements of the art and craft world, blurring the line between high and low craft.  A deep curiosity for materials, a passion for printmaking, love for local clay, and atmospheric firings are cornerstones in her practice.  The process of wood firing is integral to the story of her life and the objects she creates.

Empty Bowls!

Dig In! Yancey needs about 200 more bowls for their October event.

If you have any ready now they can be brought to Clay Club this week. Sarah House will be there to collect any bowl contributions and we’re hoping to have another making event, so stay tuned!
