Hello Clay Clubbers,
Here are the details for this month’s Clay Club:
When: Saturday, August 17th, 10 AM (start wheel throwing)
1 PM (Ice cream & Pizza BYOBowl)
Who: Dig In! Yancey and High Country Ceramics
Where: 552 E U.S. Hwy 19E Bypass, Burnsville, NC 28714
Topic: Join us for an ice cream social, pizza party, & make-a-thon, for a good cause!
Dig In! Yancey and High Country Ceramics will host an Empty Bowls throwing day.
Arrive any time after 10 AM to throw - stay for an hour or all day.
Ice cream and pizza will be enjoyed at 1 PM - We’d love if those who can not be part of making can join for ice cream and BYOBowl that can then be donated to the bowl count!
All finished bowls and even bisqued bowls are welcome donations (just make sure to know the clay body!)
This event and your contributions will help support the local food banks in Mitchell and Yancey County!
They are looking for about 200 more bowls for their October 4th event.
The goal is to make as many bowls as possible.
Help us spread the word. Bring a potter friend!
Also:
If you can transport a wheel, we’d love to have more available.
If you’d like to donate a bag of cone 6 clay, or a few dollars to help cover the cost of glazes we’d certainly appreciate that too!
Food: Pizza and homemade ice cream provided. If you’d like to bring more flavors of ice cream and sundae toppings, a side dish, snacks, or drinks, we will put them to good use!

Parking: Plenty of space but reach out if you’d like help coordinating carpooling!
