Wheels and kilns included in Tryon Arts & Crafts School Yard Sale this weekend
Tryon Arts & Crafts School invites collectors, thrifters, and bargain hunters to the School’s CDC-compliant Yard Sale benefit. The sale takes place Friday, 12 PM to 6 PM, and Saturday, 8 AM to 1 PM. TACS members are invited to a presale at 11:30 on Friday. Memberships are available through TACS’ website tryonartsandcrafts.org.
TACS welcomes gently used furniture, appliances, arts and crafts items and supplies, seasonal items, sports equipment, linens, toys, musical instruments, garden items, and tools.
TACS has received many stand-out items, such as commemorative Presidential gold-plated coins in a Rosewood box, glass top stove, MahJong set, designer purses, African drum, locking mailbox, potter’s wheels, clay and fused glass kilns, and industrial stainless-steel sheeting. Items in other categories include vintage collectibles, craft supplies, high-end boutique items, unique décor, and furniture.
Posted signage will lead arriving guests to the rear parking lot, near the open-air gym. Eager consumers are expected to line up outside on Friday morning to be part of the initial rush. However, the rush will be slightly slowed as TACS is following new procedures to ensure the safety of guests and volunteers. All donations have been quarantined prior to sale. Guests are required to exercise social distancing and to wear masks – TACS has a limited supply of free masks for those in need. Hand sanitizer will be provided to all guests before entering the building. The building will hold a limit of 25 people at one time, and foot traffic will be directed one-way from entry to check-out.
All sale proceeds will go toward the operations and art education programs of Tryon Arts and Crafts School, a nonprofit organization serving the extended Polk County area.
Outside of the forthcoming Yard Sale, TACS has partially reopened with small classes, workshops, and Studio Time. Only registered students and instructors are permitted inside the school’s main building during scheduled class times. No others are permitted inside the building without an appointment. TACS’ gallery and shop are not currently open to the general public.
