Penland is looking for Volunteers

We are spreading the word about Penland's Community Open House day on February 25, 1 PM to 5 PM. We haven't had this event since 2020 so we are super stoked about welcoming visitors. Our studios are open with all kinds of hands-on activities for folks to try free of charge. This is a great kids event and the best way to get rid of that winter cabin fever.

I'm doing a shout-out for volunteers to help in the clay studio. Visitors can try their hand at the potter's wheel with the help of a volunteer or make a pinch pot or tiny animal sculpture. Nothing is fired and folks take home their clay creations that day. In thanks Penland provides lunch and a souvenir apron for each volunteer. There's also a greeter position and other roles that can be performed with no experience at all. 

The volunteer schedule is as follows:

Saturday, February 25th

11am - arrive at your designated studio

11:45am - head to the Pines Dining Hall for lunch and announcements

12:30pm - return to the studios for final setup

1 to 5pm - welcome and assist the public with studio activities

5 to 6pm - help clean up the studio
