Jamie Bates Slone Workshop

ETSU will host Jamie Bates Sloan for a free demonstration workshop on March 27 & 28. In this workshop, Jamie will demonstrate how to sculpt a large portrait bust with solid building techniques, starting with planning and constructing a pipe armature. In addition, topical content related to proportions of the human head & neck, anatomy, scale, and tips for sculpting the figure will be addressed.

Registration is not required, but if you plan on bringing a group, we would love to know (roughly) how many people you plan to bring to ensure we have enough chairs. If you have already reached out about your group, thank you! For all others, please email me at rogersle@etsu.edu with any questions, etc.

Directions:

We are located on the Main Campus of East Tennessee State University in the Art Annex Building. Our address is 695 JL Seehorn Jr Rd, Johnson City, TN. If you put this into GPS, you should find us! Otherwise, a campus map is located here: https://www.etsu.edu/ehome/documents/etsu-campusmap.pdf.

Parking on campus can be tricky. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so you can find parking. When you arrive on campus, come directly to the Annex, and we will have a parking pass for you to put on your windshield. Or, if you email me in advance, I can send you a parking pass that you can print out at home. If you have any questions, please contact me at the email address above.

This event is generously sponsored by the Student Ceramics Association and is free and open to the public. We will have coffee and snacks out by 8:30 am, and a potluck lunch will be provided by the members of the SCA.
