Glaze Materials?

Amongst the treasures in the studio, I've found Iron Chromate, Granular Rutile and Ilmenite. I don't believe I've ever seen a glaze recipe using any of these. Would you use them in a clay body? How? Any ideas for glaze recipes? Toxicity?

Kari- what cone do you fire to? I have some great recipes using both materials- I fire to cone 10.

Rutile added to a white glaze usually turns to light sandy tone and it is very useful for texturizing. I use it a lot. Ilmenite can give some texture too, just like dark tiny spots to your high temperature glazes. I think iron chromat is used for obtaining yellow and red when added on lead glazes. I can not check this last info right now for I have all my notes at the studio, but one thing I know for sure is chromates, all of them, are very toxic. I hope my info is helpful! :-)

Granular Rutile and Ilmenite are used to create some nice effects when used as colorants/additives to glazes.
