Bowls wanted for Dig In! Empty Bowls in Yancey County

Dig In! is asking potters to donate bowls for its 6th annual Empty Bowls Dinner. Proceeds from the event, which will take place on September 30, will benefit Dig In!’s work to grow and distribute vegetables so that everyone eats in Yancey County.

Organizers are hoping to collect as many as 400 bowls, so they need lots of help! Here’s how to donate:

The dinner will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on September 30 at Higgins Memorial United Methodist Church in Burnsville. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door or at the following venues: Appalachian Java, Burnsville Wine And …, Yancey Chamber of Commerce, OOAK Gallery, Pig & Grits, and Reconciliation House.
