Making Your Work Your Own: using commercial glazes in low fire oxidation

Join us for an afternoon with Angelique as she shows us how to make custom, one-of-a-kind underglaze colors and demonstrates layering those glazes in combination with underglaze pencils and commercial glazes to create truly unique and expressive functional work that is sure to inspire the creative spirit!

Angelique is focused on creating functional, whimsical pottery with a sculptural approach, always going to that “magic nation” for inspiration. Her work is shown in the permanent collection at New Orleans Museum of Modern Art in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2010 Angelique was selected to be one of The WNC Top 10 Emerging artist and in 2011 she was selected as one of Ceramic Monthly’s Top 15 National Emerging Clay Artist. Angelique has been featured in various prominent national publications, most recently featured in back to back issues of Clay Times for her unique glazing style. Angelique is the founder Fly Coop Studios, located in the Asheville’s River Arts District at Curve Studios and Garden.
