Workshop: Big Bold Wild Clay Pots with Tori Motyl: August 5th-6th

Description: Welcome all to this combination wild clay and coiling BIG workshop! In two wild days, we will cover all the basics of finding, digging, processing, testing, and making pottery using wild clay. We will dig together, laugh together, get incredibly dirty together, and leave a little bit closer to each other and to the earth.

Combined with this adventure, students will learn the technique of coiling BIG using commercial stoneware clay while our wild clay takes time to process. To finish off the workshop, we will be covering our coil pots with an expressive wild clay surface using the clay we find right on the property! Firing not included.

Take a step back to the basics and a step forward to sustainability!

This class is perfect for all potters of any stage who want to release some control over their work and approach clay from the perspective of expression and play.

Date & Time: August 5th + 6th 10am-4pm.

Age & Level: 18+ (13-17 with participating adult). All levels welcome

Format: Hands-on

Materials Provided: Shovels ,sorting bins, screens, pillow cases, kitty pool, power drill, stoneware clay. Student materials list will be emailed upon registration.
