Glaze Mixer

Glaze Mixer can mix your ceramic glaze recipes. Potters enter their ceramic glaze recipes online and Glaze Mixer will mix them! Find high-fire glaze recipes, cone 6 glaze recipes, raku glaze recipes and others on the community page.

Don't know if everyone knows about Glazemixer.com but they mix up recipes and ship them to you dry.You add water and you are off.  That way people who don't want to buy and store all the chemicals can mix up glazes a lot cheaper than buying them wet from Duncan or other glaze suppliers.

And the best news is that they now print the recipes - so it is open source!

Couldn't be a better way to do things!!

I found this out by Googling "Cowan Amber glaze recipe"

I've used glazes mixed by them for a couple years now and have been very pleased. And I decided to use them for the very reason you mentioned - not having to purchase lots of glaze chemicals. One of the glazes I use is even the Cowan Amber Celadon which I love. Highly recommend Glaze Mixer.

I love glaze mixer, and use them all the time.

Not all recipes are "open source". It's up to the person adding the recipe. And BTW, when I add one from your book, I always list the page number. I hope that's OK. I saw many of your recipes listed when I first checked out the site and thought maybe you'd added them, so I thought it would be OK.

As some authors are pretty concerned about republication of their recipes, I will often not share the recipe but list the author name and page number.

I heard about the site and tried it on 9/28/12. Still awaiting word whe it will be shipped. I've called and sent an email, but have not heard from them regarding an update. I can see from my account tht it has not been mixed either.

Have they gone out of business? This is very frustrating.

Are they out of business?

As of 2013 I think they are out of business - but not officially. I tried to email them several times during the year but no answer at all!
I had received an order from them at the beginning of their venture. And at that early stage I got an email confirmation right away, and good follow up emails. So I can only conclude that something happened, and they are not in business.

I also tried to contact them many times since January but received no answer. If the company is out of business, I am truly sorry as I received some great glazes.

I have used the site as well and just opened a new studio. I guess they went out of business. I can mix any glazes as I have a whole lab setup now. If anyone has the Cone04 metallic glaze recipe please forward it to me. Chrisdouglas05@gmail.com
